Rend Collective Playback Rig

This is one of our favorite, and most complicated builds to date! For Rend collective, we built a custom playback rig that features the PlayAudio12 for 12 channels of redundant playback, 4 MIDI RTP Connections for sending MIDI across stage, and and SDI video feed for a video monitor on-stage…. All with USB-C connections to each computer utilizing Cal Digit hubs.

For the power, we used an Anker universal power dock to connect the MacBook chargers and PlayAudio12 PSU. And thanks to the USB 5v outlets, we could power the network switch and Decimator with some custom cabling.

We also provided Powercon True1 cables for power in and out of the rig, and 3 cable looms that included - power, SDI, EtherCon, USB and a footswitch connection (to control the PlayAudio12).

2023 UPDATE In preperation for Rend Collective's 2023 headline tour, they wanted to update their playback rig to feature a 16 channel "SINE" connector, which is used by Spectrum Sound. This allows Rend Co's playback rig to integrate directly with Spectrum Sound's gear with just one connection. We also added 4 'local inputs' to the playback rig that occupty channel 13-16 of the 16 channel output of the playback rig. See last photos for the updated back panel and connections!
